We use a lot of template pages at Domo, and the Big Data London event page is no different. However, that doesn't mean we can't have some fun with it.

When the EMEA team asked me to build this page, they wanted a lot of things customized. They had gotten assets from creative that were reminiscent of the 2026 Domo Connections Tour aesthetic (if you know, you know).

While it was possible to give them all of the customizations in the world, there comes a point where you may as well not even use the template. So the challenge was finding ways to make this page interesting and unique, without making it unrecognizable from both the original template and Domo's overall brand.

Luckily for me, Domo uses a lot of colors, especially for Domopalooza. Because of that, I was able to use some of the Domopalooza official colors in this design, but in a way that didn't make it seem like the page belonged in the DP collection.

Beyond that, I was also able to reconfigure the cards so that we could set background images for them which really helped carry the vibe from the astronaut imagery down the page.

This project was one of my favorites BECAUSE there was a lot of trial and error, and back and forth between the EMEA team and myself. And I think that actually helped it look so cool in the end.

While there are tiny parts of it I don't love, I think the overall page feels really unique while still feeling like it is a Domo brand page through and through.
